Furniture assembly service in Singapore: our price list

Furniture assembly here is priced per piece, by the piece's size and difficulty. Small items start from S$50, a standard piece is S$100, and a large multi-panel item such as a big storage bed is from S$200. Above five pieces the standard rate drops to S$90 each. Tools, levelling and wall anchoring are included. This page sets out the full price list, shows a real seven-piece quote, and explains what moves a piece between bands — so you can work out your own total before you message us.

Furniture assembly price list (2026)

We price per piece, not per hour. A piece is one finished item of furniture — one wardrobe, one bed frame, one desk — regardless of how many boxes it arrived in. What sets the rate is how big and how fiddly that piece is:

On top of that, volume discounts the standard rate:

Three things follow from that structure, and they're worth understanding before you book:

• Small items stay cheap. The bulk rate lowers the standard band — it does not raise anything already priced below it. A shoe rack quoted at $50 stays $50 whether it's alone or the sixth item on the list.
• The more you assemble in one visit, the cheaper each standard piece gets. Most of the cost in a small job is getting a skilled pair of hands and a full tool kit to your door. Once we're there with panels laid out, each additional item is quicker.
• Size and difficulty come first, count second. A piece with forty panels and a storage base isn't the same job as a bedside table, so it's quoted on its own from $200 rather than folded into the standard rate.

Mixed loads are normal and get priced line by line — a wardrobe, two desks and three small shelves is not six identical pieces, and we don't quote it as if it were.

A real quote: seven pieces for $630

This is an actual RK E&C quotation, unedited apart from the customer's name. It's a typical move-in job — a flat's worth of furniture delivered at once and assembled in a single visit:

Every item here is a standard piece, and seven is above the five-piece threshold, so the whole job priced at the lower rate: 7 × S$90 = S$630. At the standard rate the same job would have been S$700, so the customer saved S$70 simply by having everything assembled on one visit rather than splitting it across two.

That's the practical lesson for anyone furnishing a new flat: hold the deliveries until you have the bulk of them, then book once. Assembling three pieces now and four next week costs more than assembling seven together.

What actually changes the price

When we look at your item list, three things move the number:

1. Piece count

The lever you control. Crossing from five to six pieces moves every standard piece in the job to the $90 rate — worth checking if you're sitting at five and have a spare shelf or bedside table still in its box.

2. Physical size

This is the first thing we look at. A shoe rack or bedside table is a $50 job; large beds, full-height wardrobes and long sideboards need two people to handle safely and take longer to square up and level, so they're quoted individually from $200.

3. Number of parts and fittings

Part count matters more than the furniture's footprint. A compact drawer tower with runners, soft-close hinges and forty fittings can genuinely take longer than a plain dining table twice its size. A storage bed with hydraulic lift, slats and a base is the classic example — physically big and part-heavy.

What does not change the price: where you are in Singapore. We work island-wide at the same rates, HDB or condo.

What's included in the rate

• All tools. Our assemblers bring drills, bits, levels, hex keys and hand tools. You don't need to own anything.
• Wall anchoring. Tall furniture is fixed to the wall as standard, with the anchor matched to the wall type — this is a safety step, not an upsell.
• Levelling and alignment. Doors adjusted so they sit flush and don't swing open on their own, feet shimmed on uneven floors.
• A parts check before we start. If something is missing from the box, you find out at the beginning of the visit rather than three hours in.
• A fixed price agreed before the visit. No hourly meter, no per-item surprises on the day.

Packaging disposal can usually be arranged — mention it when you book, as bulky cardboard and foam from large furniture may need to go to your block's bulky-waste collection.

The step worth insisting on: anchoring

Tall, top-heavy furniture tips. Wardrobes, tall bookshelves and drawer towers are the usual culprits, and in a home with young children it is a genuine hazard rather than a theoretical one. Manufacturers include an anti-tip bracket or strap for exactly this reason, and it is the first thing a rushed assembly leaves in the bag.

Anchoring properly depends on what your wall is made of:

• Brick or concrete takes a standard wall plug and screw well.
• Hollow, drywall or partition walls need a proper cavity anchor — a normal plug pulls straight out under load. Newer BTO flats have more of these than older resale flats do, which is why we ask where each tall piece is going before drilling. The same wall-type logic applies to mounting a TV on an HDB wall — often part of the same visit.

IKEA, Taobao, Shopee and everything else

The per-piece rate is the same regardless of where the furniture came from. Flat-pack is flat-pack: panels, dowels, cam locks and a bag of fittings. We regularly assemble items from IKEA, Taobao, Shopee, Lazada, local retailers and direct-from-factory orders.

Taobao pieces do carry a few extra quirks — diagram-only or Chinese-language instructions, occasional missing fittings, mismatched pre-drilled holes on cheaper listings. How to prep so the job runs fast

1. Clear the room and leave floor space for panels to be laid out.
2. Keep boxes unopened and together — pre-sorting is how fittings go missing.
3. Decide exactly where each tall piece will stand, so it's anchored once and not moved.
4. Have the order confirmation handy in case a part has to be matched or claimed from the seller.
5. Bundle small handyman jobs into the same visit — curtain rails and blinds, a TV bracket, a mirror. It's cheaper than a second trip.

For everyday assembly inside your own flat you don't need an HDB permit — those apply to renovation works like hacking and flooring. Do keep drilling within the permitted hours published by HDB, and give neighbours a heads-up if you have a full day of it.

When it's carpentry, not assembly

One boundary worth drawing. Assembly means building a piece that arrived as a kit. Full-height wardrobe systems built module by module are the same.

Does the price include tools and wall anchoring?

Yes. Our assemblers bring their own drill, bits, levels and hand tools, and anchoring tall furniture is treated as part of a safe assembly rather than an add-on. You only need the boxes on-site and the room cleared.

Do you assemble IKEA and Taobao furniture?

How do I get a fixed quote?

Send a list or photos of the items plus your postal code. We count the pieces, apply the per-piece rate, adjust for anything oversized, and send back a fixed total before the visit — usually the same day.
